Sindh Board Exams Rescheduled as Govt Bars Papers During Holy Week
The Government of Sindh has directed all educational boards across the province to revise their examination schedules to avoid clashes with Holy Week and Easter.
According to a notification issued by the Universities and Boards Department Sindh on February 23, 2026, no board examinations will be conducted from April 2 to April 6, 2026.
All chairpersons of educational boards have been instructed to immediately adjust previously announced timetables and submit compliance reports on an urgent basis. Examinations may resume from April 7, 2026 onward.

Matric and Inter Exams Schedule
Earlier, the annual exam calendar was finalized by the Sindh Education Department’s Steering Committee in a meeting chaired by Sardar Ali Shah.
Under the approved plan:
-
Matric (Class 9 & 10) exams are scheduled to begin from March 31 after Eid.
-
Intermediate (Class 11 & 12) exams are set to start from April 15.
With the latest directive, boards will now adjust dates falling within the restricted period while ensuring that the overall examination timeline remains intact.
Why the Change Was Made
The decision follows instructions from the Chief Minister of Sindh to ensure that examinations are not held during Holy Week and Easter, respecting religious observances.
Officials say the move reflects administrative flexibility and inclusivity in scheduling major academic activities.
Students are advised to stay updated through their respective board websites and avoid relying on unofficial date sheets.
