AEOs to Report Directly to DG Monitoring Under New Punjab Policy
The School Education Department Punjab has introduced a new reporting structure for Assistant Education Officers (AEOs) across the province, aiming to strengthen school monitoring and accountability.
Under the latest notification, AEOs will now report directly to the Director General of Monitoring and Evaluation, replacing the previous administrative reporting system.
Focus on Stronger Monitoring
Officials say the revised structure is designed to improve oversight of public schools and ensure better monitoring standards across districts. By centralizing reporting under the monitoring wing, the department expects faster feedback, improved data collection, and greater transparency in school supervision.
AEOs will continue to oversee:
-
Public sector schools
-
Institutions operating under the Punjab Education Foundation (PEF)
-
Schools managed by the Punjab Education Initiatives Management Authority (PEIMA)
Implementation Instructions
All Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of District Education Authorities have been directed to ensure immediate compliance with the new reporting mechanism.
The department has also instructed administrative officials to submit implementation reports within the given timeframe, ensuring the transition remains transparent and effective.
What This Means
The change reflects Punjab’s broader effort to improve governance in the education sector. By streamlining supervision channels, authorities aim to enhance institutional performance and maintain consistent monitoring standards throughout the province.
