Online E-Marking System Rolled Out Across Pakistan’s Education Boards

A nationwide online e-marking system has been introduced across educational boards in Pakistan, marking a major shift toward digital evaluation of examination papers.

The initiative is being implemented under the supervision of the Inter Board Coordination Commission (IBCC), which has directed all boards to ensure compliance with the new system.

Pilot Phase Begins with Computer Science Paper

According to official sources, the digital marking process will initially be applied to the Computer Science paper this year as part of a pilot project.

If the pilot phase proves successful, the system will gradually expand to cover all examination papers in the coming years.

Software Provided Free of Cost

IBCC officials confirmed that the specially developed e-marking software has been distributed free of charge to all educational boards.

The centralized digital platform aims to:

  • Improve transparency in marking

  • Reduce human error

  • Ensure fair evaluation standards

8th Class Exams Also to Be Checked Online

This year, Class 8 board examinations have been reintroduced, and authorities have confirmed that these papers will also be checked through the online e-marking system.

The move is aimed at ensuring uniform assessment standards and improving transparency, especially as Grade 8 students return to a centralized examination structure.
